The SMCA has just made an announcement in relation to the 2021/22 cricket season. The President’s update is copied below:

Message from the President:

The SMCA Committee met tonight to determine how we would finish the Home and Away season.

It was decided that the season would be shortened by one week. This means that the final Round of the Two-Day Grades would be reduced to a one-day match, played under Two-Day rules for Two-Day points, and Round 14 of the One-Day Only Grades would be cancelled.

Semi-finals will now be played on the weekend of March 5 and 6, and the Grand Finals on March 12 and 13. We understand that playing a final on the long weekend is not ideal, but it can’t be avoided.

Adjustments to player qualifications will also be made, and confirmation of these changes will be provided to Clubs prior to selections on Thursday night.
